Dr. Abigail Hall Blanco is an Associate Professor in Economics at Bellarmine University. She received her PhD in Economics from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. She is a co-author of the books Manufacturing Militarism: US Government Propaganda in the War on Terror and Tyranny Comes Home: The Domestic Fate of U.S. Militarism both with Christopher Coyne. Today she joins Garrett to discuss development economics, why regions like Appalachia are still so poor, and what solutions economists have for poverty and economic growth.
